Workshop - Description:
We play with groove, flow, and emotion, combining urban moves with organic, flowing elements and developing our own style from it. The focus is on creativity, expression, and experimentation – whether you are a beginner or an experienced dancer. In this dance workshop, there are no rigid rules.
The goal is not just to move your body, but to truly get to know it. We will engage with its individual parts, play with them, and test what is possible – from controlled movements to complete release.
The space is not just used but becomes a real play partner: high, low, close, far – everything is possible. We bring opposites together: soft meets hard, fast meets slow motion. The floor becomes our playground. We adjust the tempo, break our personal space, make contact, and allow movement to emerge where there may have been boundaries before.
Come along, let yourself be carried by the beat, and go home with a new flow, fresh moves, and a broad smile.
No prior knowledge is required.
Please bring:
- Comfortable clothing
- Enough to drink
- A towel
If shoes are desired, please wear clean indoor sneakers/training shoes – however, for better feeling, I recommend being barefoot or wearing socks.
The Artist:
Lena-Maria Gande, born in 1997 in Graz.
- Dancer at DANCE Austria, Hartberg (2008-20215)
- 2-year dance teacher training for contemporary dance, Vienna
- Currently pursuing a BSc in Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna.
"I have decided to consciously give space to contemporary dance in my life, and with that, a new world opened up for me..
New movement patterns have emerged in my body – and with them a deeper understanding of what movement can be. From this experience, a stronger passion for dance and artistic creation has grown – a passion that I want to pass on and share with others."
