    Hiking in the Eastern Styria

    Hiking the alpine pastures and meadows of the Eastern Styria is good for the body and soul, but an unhurried city stroll also has its appeal.     Hiking along babbling streams and rivers has its own charm, because here, the cool water is right by the trail and a constant companion. Whether you want to quickly cool your feet or take a big sip of spring water—especially in the height of summer—our waterways are a great option for families.

    Our meditative trails are perfect for anyone who wants to get a little more out of hiking. Rather than scaling the peaks, the focus here is on a serene, contemplative hike with stations featuring texts that provide food for thought.

     

     

    Hiking with dogs

    Dogs on a leash are very welcome in Austria’s garden. Hiking trails where dogs will not encounter grazing animals are also provided over the farmed alpine pastures. 

     

     

     

    Long- distance hikes & stage trails

    Spending several days on foot and getting to know the region in this way is becoming increasingly popular, regardless of whether you are traveling on different stages across Eastern Styria or whether you are making the journey to the neighboring country.

    With the Alpannonia long-distance hiking trail, a hiking trail certified with the Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality also starts in the region.
