Styrian Summer Art: Figure and Form – Modeling with Clay with Barbara Schmid
General Information
Workshop - Description:
Working with clay means thinking with your hands. It is a primal, meditative, and at the same time powerful way to find artistic expression.
In this workshop, the human figure is in the spotlight. Based on our own perception of the body, we develop modeled sketches that will be transformed into individual sculptural works. We explore proportion, movement, and expression, learn basic construction and modeling techniques, and shape surfaces in a variety of ways. A series, an enlarged figure, or an object can emerge.
The course offers space for experimentation, intuition, and personal interpretation. Own project ideas can also be brought along and elaborated on and implemented here.
