Workshop Description:
Shape your very own work of art from wood! In this versatile workshop, you will work with woodworking machines such as jigsaws, drills, sanders, and carving tools to create an individual sculpture. You will combine wood with exciting materials like metal, feathers, plastic, or glass – for a unique Gesamtkunstwerk.
The workshop emphasizes conscious and safe tool use, as well as the creative combination of various materials. Whether freeform, figurative representation, design object, or a special everyday item: You will be competently guided so that your idea takes shape in a professional and expressive way.
This workshop is aimed at everyone who enjoys experimenting, discovering new things playfully, and wants to expand their crafting skills – regardless of whether you have initial experience or already work confidently with materials and tools. Unleash your creativity and let wood and materials become your means of expression!
Please bring:
- Woodworking tools such as jigsaw, sander (orbital sander or angle grinder with sanding disc)
- Drill
- Cordless screwdriver, ... or hand tools (hammer, carving knife, rasp...)
- Work clothes (for good and bad weather)
- Work gloves, headwear
- Safety goggles
- Good work shoes
- For safety, adhesive bandages, elastic bandages
Material Contribution:
If available, please bring your own tools - however, it is possible to borrow tools and machines for a fee.
Rental fee for tools 40 Euro.
We provide the wood for your sculpture.
Depending on the size/type of wood, between 20 and 60 Euro is to be paid directly at the course.
The Artist:
Martin Gollowitsch, GOLLOMAR, born in 1969 in Leoben, works as a sculptor and artist with various materials. His background as a carpenter and joiner gives a focus on wood, which he employs and showcases in various ways. He runs a studio in Graz, where, in addition to sculptural works, design furniture and lamps are manufactured.
