THE ROAD OF MUSIC

The Styrian Apple Road winds through Eastern Styria for 25 km. By car, on foot or on a bicycle – apples in liquid or solid form always take centre stage. Raw or processed into juice, cider, schnapps and delicious apple dishes. You can even enjoy entire apple menus from apple cider soup to apple dumplings at restaurants along the way.

Numerous music-related events are held throughout the year. The "Straße der Musik" association networks these events, expands them with workshops, training courses and much more and combines them into one large project. The aim is to preserve and innovatively develop these traditions.

A range of activities and events for young and old take place in the communities throughout the year. This results in a wide-ranging calendar of events. But the musical personalities are also in the foreground. From sacred choir music to Bohemian brass band music, there are many creative artists and music groups along the Road of Music. For example, the Hafendorfer, the Grafen, the Stoakogler, the Ritschis and many more are particularly well known!

Events and music groups dedicated to traditional Styrian folk music are also supported. Thus, for example, the Almliederabende, the Hausmusik groups or the Musikanten-Stammtische are preserved.

Experience the fascinating world of the "Stoakogler" - Reinhold, Fritz and Franz - who have been reaching people's hearts with their unique music for over 50 years.

Immerse yourself in the interactive exhibition, which not only provides insights into the Stoanis' working and private lives, but also tells exciting stories from the music scene.

At the Stoanineum we offer music lessons, seminars and workshops. You can also enjoy a well-earned break in the Stoani Café, where refreshing drinks and snacks await you.

GASNER MUSIKIRTAG

Under the motto "The music plays in the village today", our guests are offered something special on August 15 in the middle of the "Garden of Austria" with Styrian culinary delights and living customs.

The event starts at 10.00 am with a Styrian harmonica mass and the consecration of herbs in the parish church. The entire town center of Gasen will be closed to traffic and enlivened by musicians, traditional demonstrations, culinary delicacies, etc.. Including: the Stoakogler, the Hafendorfer, the Sulmtaler Dirndln & Freunde, the Mounta Musi, the Stoarieser, a children's folk dance group, the St. Radegund music association and many more.

There are also many highlights on the program, such as "Weisenblasen", "Maibaum-Umspielen" with approx. 100 harmonica students from the Stoanineum, a big competition, etc.

The Gasn innkeepers will be offering special delicacies and culinary specialties throughout the village.
