For the adventure region of Eastern Styria, a positive development on the subject of cycling is a priority. A number of steps have been taken to ensure that guests and cycling enthusiasts gain even more enjoyment from cycling in the garden of Austria.

COMPETE WITH CHRISTOPH STRASSER

Multiple Race Across America winner and 24-hour world record holder Christoph Strasser was recruited as an ambassador for Ride4Hope Austria.

To provide even more incentive for cyclists to participate in the vision of Ride4Hope Austria, the "Sitzfleisch Challenge" - after the name of Strasser's podcast - was launched to compete with the exceptional cyclist virtually or in real life. #hybridcup

STYRIAN WEXL TRAILS

On June 1st, the time has finally come - the Styrian Wexl Trails open their doors and present, among other things, their newly built centerpiece: a continuous trail from the Schutzhaus am Hochwechsel to the Vorauer Schwaig.

The opening ceremony will take place together with the traditional Almauftrieb on the Vorauer Schwaig. Be there and experience this special event!

Trails are routes integrated into nature - pump tracks are artificially created, course-like cycling routes - BMX is called Bicycle Motocross and is a sport that is practiced on bicycles with a small frame and 20-inch wheels.

Two-wheeled, single-seater bicycles, pedelecs and e-bikes (length up to 2 metres up to a total weight of 40 kg excluding bike carrier and 50 kg including bike carrier) are accepted.
Special bicycle constructions (e.g. tandem, bicycles with trailers, etc.) are not transported.

Feistritztal cycling route

A bicycle tour along former rail lines can be described as highly romantic and nostalgic. The route features dense, lush, green forests in the woodland home of Styria’s poet Peter Rosegger, passing through the untouched, impressive Feistritztalklamm ravine and the colourful Apfelland to the Steiermark volcanic and adventure region.

The 187-kilometre mountain bike trail “Der große Jogl” circles the Joglland – Waldheimat region along various roads, streets and trails. Many places like the Hochwechsel or Masenberg feature fantastic views, others like the Trail Land have special additional offers for cyclists.
