Winter hiking: Nature Park Adventure Trail

Open

This circular hike in the middle of the Pöllauer Tal Nature Park is an experience for children, young people, adults...and also in the winter months!

Even in winter, this circular walk has a very special atmosphere:

Nature with its vegetation and animals takes a break due to the low temperatures and this also has a soothing and calming effect on us humans.

Covered in hoarfrost, the plants and trees develop into truly mystical formations. When the snow covers the fields and meadows, the sun's rays make the endless ice crystals glitter and shine - an experience for all our senses!

More information

Schlosspark Pöllau - Hinterbrühl - Hotel Restaurant Gruber

  • Starting in the Schlosspark at the signposts (east of the Parkcafe), the trail leads us across the Aupark past the open-air swimming pool in a northerly direction to the blue house of the mill and bakery Almbauer, where we keep to the left and meet, among others, the signposts of the Naturpark Erlebnisrundweg (yellow dot).
  • We follow the course of the water channel (Brühlbach). Shortly after the outdoor grill, we reach the natural bathing pond of the ***Superior Hotel Restaurant Gruber.

Hotel Restaurant Gruber - Gut Lehenshofen - Halthansl

  • At the upper edge of the bathing pond at the marking with the yellow dots of the adventure circular trail heading south, the trail leads us past the eastern part of the Hinterbrühl recreation paradise to the detached house where we now turn right and thus meet the Haas farm and the municipal road, where we then keep to the right.
  • The Lehenshofen estate is on the left. Immediately after the water basin, the path branches off to the left in a cul-de-sac and passes through the farm of the Pöltl family into a wooded area until it reaches the L 432 main road.

Halthansl - Schweighofer wine tavern - Pöllau castle park

  • We cross the main road and after about 50 m (direction Pöllau) we turn right. Now we follow the slightly descending road and come to a junction where we continue to the left - or we take a break at the Buschenschank Schweighofer, Ziagl`s Laube, (note opening times!).
  • The trail continues downhill, partly winding, through a wood, leads across a meadow, and after crossing a stream ("Mausbach") over a small bridge, we come to the asphalted country road and pass the Gleichweit market garden.
  • On the pavement, follow the yellow dot markings back to Pöllau to the castle park.

In any case, we always plan enough time to enjoy the culinary delights of the region's warm hosts
