This is a longer and strenuous but fantastic ski tour in the Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen Nature Park. Enjoy the extensive mountain panorama and recharge your batteries in the snowy mountains of the Murau region.

- From Vienna on the A2 southern motorway to the Seebenstein junction, the Semmering expressway S6 to St, Michael i. Upper Styria, via the Murtal expressway S36 to Judenburg, the federal highway B96 to Scheifling, on the B317 to St. Marein b. Neumarkt, continue on the B92 to Mühlen.
- From Linz on the Phyrn motorway A9 to St, Michael i. Upper Styria, via the Murtal expressway S36 to Judenburg, the federal highway B96 to Scheifling, on the B317 to St. Marein b. Neumarkt, continue on the B92 to Mühlen.
- From Graz on the A2 southern motorway over the Packsattel to the Twimberg/Bad St. Leonhard exit, the B78 federal road to Wiesenau, on the Klippitztörlstraße to Hüttenberg, on the B92 further to Mühlen.
- From Italy/Slovenia or from Klagenfurt on the Wörthersee motorway A2 to Klagenfurt, the federal highway B317 to St. Marein b. Neumarkt, continue on the B92 to Mühlen.
From the town center of Mühlen by car or taxi on the access road via Jakobsberg to the Tonnerhütte, 1,594m.
From the Tonnerhütte you follow the right-hand slope, then through pine trees and larch trees, over the Hohe Halt to the “Herterhöhe”, at the signpost near the large stone, you decide to climb over the winter markings (wooden poles), to the NE. You walk through sparse trees past the “Hirschnlackn” and reach steeper alpine pastures up to the rocky area. Follow the marker poles through rocky, steep terrain to the “Mühlner Sattel”. From here take the marked path directly to the “Scharfes Eck” transmitter station. Continue following the northern ridge towards Kreiskogel, after approx. 500m (snow poles) entrance to the northern slope, descent to the Ochsenboden. Ascent from the Ochsenboden to the Scharfer Eck, like the descent.
