    summer time is fun time

Summer is the season for getting active in the region! Horseriding, fishing, boating or any of the many other recreational options.

Summer days in the Murtal can be as active or as relaxed as you like. Here you can enjoy all sorts of sports: numerous tennis courts, both outdoor and indoor (especially when the weather isn't great) beckon you to play an exciting match of singles or doubles. Always surrounded by leafy forests and lush meadows, your battle becomes an experience of nature.

Have you ever tried your hand at padel tennis? Not for nothing is this mixture of squash and tennis one of the fastest-growing emerging sports out there. At the Landhaus Willhelmer, you can have a go at this popular new sport and you can borrow the equipment too. Afterwards, you can bring your day to an enjoyable close with a dip in the establishment pond or with a relaxed dinner.

Or how about a game of golf? The Golfclub Murtal invites you to play an enjoyable round or two in the midst of verdant forests.

"No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle" – very true words for the Murtal too. There are numerous stables for horse-lovers to visit, where they can indulge their hobby even while they're on holiday in the Murtal.

But you won't just find horsepower at the stables... At the Red Bull Ring too, racing enthusiasts can experience concentrated engine power. Many racing series are hosted at the world's most modern race track every year, but it also offers visitors the chance to take the wheel themselves. Feel the rush of adrenalin and the beating heart of the Murtal on one of the driving experiences on offer.

    The mountains are calling!

    pure Nature in the mountains

The Murtal stands out for its stunning, multi-faceted mountains.

What could be finer than dipping your feet in cool, clear water after a tough hike or a long bike ride and simply letting your soul fly free. The many mountain lakes and natural ponds in the Murtal refresh and enchant visitors with their crystalline waters and fascinating panoramas. Unwind on the bank and enjoy the peace and contentment as you listen to the gently lapping water.

    ENJOY THE RIDE

The happiness of the earth lies on the back of the horses – of course, this slogan is also suitable for the Murtal. Many horse stables invite horse lovers to pursue their hobby during their holiday in the Murtal.

Show your skills! The riding clubs in the Murtal organize a range of exciting tournaments. Whether jump or dressage, here you can prove what you are made of. Or what about an idyllic carriage ride? Relaxe while you drive through the beautiful landscape, enjoy the nature and the gentle nature of the animals. Ask the horse lovers of the region and experience the Murtal beastly!

the emerging new sport - padel - is also popular in the Murtal.

Have you ever tried your hand at padel tennis? Not for nothing is this mixture of squash and tennis one of the fastest-growing emerging sports out there. It helps you improve your speed and body control, but most of all it's fun. At the Landhaus Willhelmer and the Sportzentrum Knittelfeld, you can have a go at this popular new sport and you can borrow the equipment too.

    Have a ball...

Numerous tennis courts, both outdoor and indoor (especially when the weather isn't great), beckon you to play an exciting match of singles or doubles. Always surrounded by leafy forests and lush meadows, your battle becomes an experience of nature.

THE REGION MURTAL IS ON TARGET!

Archery is a great sport for the whole family. It can be played by anyone from 8 to 80, is one of the oldest Olympic disciplines, and is now enjoying huge popularity. Not only does it present a great sporting challenge, but it also brings body and soul into harmony.

    Water fun

Summertime is time for water fun. Numerous outdoor pools in the Murtal region invite you to be active. Sports pools, current channels and whitewater barkers are waiting for you. Do you prefer something more natural? Then visit one of the swimming ponds and natural lakes.

Action in and by the Mur

The river Mur is the lifeblood of the Murtal and an important draw for the people of the region in their free time.

The river is a gathering place for beautiful strolls through the river wetlands and forests.

If you would like to experience the river in a different way, then why not take a dinghy out on the water to explore the Mur? On a pleasure boat ride like this, not only will you discover the hidden tributaries of the Mur, but with a bit of luck you'll also spot a few rare bird species. But more than anything else, this new perspective of the river will be a complete joy.

Anglers also love going fly-fishing in the Mur; fishing for Danube salmon is particularly popular here.
