An extensive hike partly through small villages and shady woods. We pass by the natural jewel of the 1000-year-old oak tree, which is deeply rooted in Bierbaumberg.

Since this is a circular tour, you can of course start at any point. If you want to get to know the culinary Styrian delights afterwards, you can start at the wine tavern "Zum Stoabocha". From here, the trail continues eastward for a short distance and then turns left up a small incline to Untergfangen. Following the route FF8 you then come to the shade forest. Especially on hot days this is a real benefit. Walking on the forest path is also very pleasant and the "forest bathing" goes by itself.

This route through the forest decelerates. You also pass by the Dachenriegel. Here it is worth visiting the farm store Rauers Ernte. There are fresh drinks and delicious snacks (power bars), seasonal fruits and vegetables. The route continues to the village of Bierbaum. On the Bierbaumberg the 1000 year old oak tree is a welcome sight for the hikers with its wide branches. Via the small village of Loimeth and the spa town of Bad Blumau you return to the starting point in Kleinsteinbach.

Wir starten mit der Wanderroute in Kleinsteinbach. Zuerst geht es ein Stück südlich und dann links in einen kurzen Anstieg. Entlang des Waldrandes in Untergfangen angekommen geht es nun ein Stückchen bergab. Rechts sehen wir Pferde des Pferdehof Nowak in der Koppel. Bei der Kreuzung links ca. 600 m und danach nochmals links abbiegen. Nach diesem kurzen Straßenstück von ca. 300 m nach rechts einbiegen. An der Geothermie vorbei geht es in den Schattenwald hinein. Genießen wir die Ruhe und Kraft der Natur durch diesen Wald. Beim Dachenriegel angekommen kann man beim Hofladen Rauers Ernte (Selbstbedienung 24 h geöffnet) eine Rast einlegen. Jetzt geht es rechts Richtung Bierbaum. Vor dem Bahngleis und der Brücke biegen wir rechts in den Florianiweg und überqueren nun das Bahngleis und kommen in den kleinen, durch Bauernhäuser geprägten, Ort. Vorbei an der Kapelle kommen wir über den Angerweg zum nördlichen Ortsrand und begeben uns auf dem Eichenweg bergauf zur 1000jährigen Eiche. Es lohnt sich diesen, unter Naturdenkmal stehenden Baum, ausgiebig zu betrachten. Am Waldrand und durch den Wald gehen wir weiter Richtung Loimeth. Bei der Kreuzung im Ort rechts entlang der Dorfstraße bis wir in die Talsenke von Bad Blumau kommen. Den Ort vor uns begeben wir uns Richtung Ortszentrum. Nach dem Hofladen Brugner biegen wir rechts ab und gehen über die Holzbrücke, die uns über den Safenbach führt, in den Thermenpark Bad Blumau. Auf dem Schotterweg kommen wir am Taubenkobel, Biotop und Weidenbau vorbei. Beim Reitstall sehen wir bereits den Ausgangspunkt und gehen über den Kreisverkehr nach Kleinsteinbach.

Sich Zeit nehmen und bei der 1000jährigen Eiche eine Rast einlegen.
