The well-signposted FamilyBike sea buckthorn route in Wenigzell leads directly past the first sea buckthorn gardens in Austria - Sandicca.
As the name suggests, the FamilyBike Sanddornrunde is ideal for a cycle tour in Wenigzell with the whole family. Both families and leisure cyclists will get their money's worth on the approximately 7-kilometre route - with plenty of places to stop for refreshments and interesting rest stops.

From Vienna: via the A2, exit Pinggau - Friedberg, Rohrbach an der Lafnitz, Mönichwald, Waldbach, Wenigzell
From Graz: via the A2, exit Gleisdorf, Kaindorf, Pöllau bei Hartberg, Schloffereck, direction Vorau, left after the Kreuzwirt to Wenigzell

From the starting point, the village square in Wenigzell (opposite the "Zur Taverne" inn), we cycle in the direction of Buchtelbar, at the next junction we keep left and cycle past the petrol station. Shortly afterwards we turn right again towards Bratlalm. At the junction to the Bratlalm (the snack station is about 300 meters away), we continue straight ahead and follow the asphalt road for about 2 kilometers until we reach the sea buckthorn gardens of Sandicca. Here we come to a beautiful meadow or gravel path. On a downhill section, we also pass the Wenigzell heating plant. From here, we follow the road back to our starting point, where we tackle another short climb. At the end of the tour, we can stop for refreshments at one of the many inns or cafés in the center of Wenigzell.
A visit to the Sandicca sea buckthorn gardens is very worthwhile: guided tours, tastings and a store with the home-grown products await you.
Parking spaces are available in Wenigzell at the old armory, the cemetery and in front of the elementary school.
