We are talking about Herbert Pixner, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and namesake of the Herbert Pixner Project.
Herbert Pixner has expanded the project for the 2024 tour. In addition to the usual line-up of Manuel Randi (guitars), Werner Unterlercher (bass) and Ysaline Lentze (harp), Alessandro Trebo will now also be "on tour" on the grand piano. In 2024, the Herbert Pixner Project will once again present a new studio album and a new concert program for the most beautiful open-air stages and renowned concert halls throughout the German-speaking world.
The Herbert Pixner Project has been one of the most successful representatives of "progressive folk music" for almost two decades now. With playful, lascivious gentleness, powerful rock and blues riffs, brilliant technique, bold improvisations and borrowings from tango, flamenco and jazz, they have been delighting audiences for years. They sound minimalist, rugged, dreamy but always authentic. They weave a diverse tapestry of sound, there is room for gentle melancholy and also for outbursts that stop at nothing. Even after 2000 (!) sold-out concerts, Herbert Pixner and his congenial fellow musicians continue to electrify their audiences with every new concert thanks to their extreme joy of playing.
