Starting from the Joglland trail in St. Jakob im Walde, a hiking trail leads from the Gasthof Orthofer to the Berger family hotel - a great change for all cross-country skiers and skiers.
Starting from the Gasthof Orthofer, also where the Joglland trail, which is certified with the Styrian trail quality seal, starts, a winter hiking trail begins to the nearby Berger family hotel. You can trudge through the snowy landscape for around 6 kilometers, whether with or without snowshoes. A section also leads next to the Joglland trail, where you can watch the cross-country skiers. Otherwise, enjoy the peace and quiet along this winter hike, where there is a place to stop for refreshments both at the start and at the intermediate destination.

We start our winter hike at the Gasthof Orthofer. We cross the field behind the inn and go to the snowmaking pond. There we keep left and hike through a small forest to the so-called Blochplatz, a crossing point of several cross-country ski trails. From here we follow trail marker 915 to Riegler Kohlstatt at around 1,132 meters above sea level. Here we continue hiking on a narrow forest path and follow the signs "Gasthof Berger via Lechner" to the Berger family hotel. Here we can strengthen ourselves and warm up a bit before we hike back to the starting point. The way back leads along the same route back to the Gasthof Orthofer. On the tour we follow the red/white/red marking with the number 915 via Berger/Krutzler.
