The area around the apple village of Puch has been closely associated with the apple since Celtic times and the Romans.

Especially at blossom time, when thousands of apple trees float in their pink cloud of fragrance, or at harvest time when the fresh, crisp fruit invites you to taste, it is a special experience for body, mind and soul.

At the gateway to ApfelLand - "the biggest apple in the world" welcomes us and a very special hiking trail awaits us.

We start the hike at the municipal office Puch bei Weiz, direction south, after (ca.150m) turn left and then follow the marking No. 14. Continue over the Hirschenberg, through orchards to Hening. Then we turn left and go through the Teufelsgraben to Wallnerberg where they then continue on the circular trail "Elzer Roas".

We recommend:

Enjoy the fresh specialties directly from the farmer all year round at the Elzer-Roa's farms. Fresh farmhouse bread, a guate Jaus'n, must and wine directly from the region.

Timetables and information can be found at the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) or at www.busbahnbim.at

For local transportation we recommend the SAM-SammelTaxi.
