Wildwiesen circuit from Wenigzell

Open
From Wenigzell there is a great route for cyclists to the Wildwiese, a popular vantage point in the Joglland - Waldheimat region.
The route to the Wildwiese leads from Wenigzell via the Gasthof Bergler Stub'n to the Wildwiese at an altitude of 1,256 meters. There you can not only enjoy the view from the Wildwiesenwarte, but also fortify yourself with regional delicacies in the hut. The circular route then leads back to Wenigzell via the ski lift in Wenigzell.

Route planner for your journey

We start the tour on the Wildwiese at the village square in Wenigzell and ride past the church in the direction of Joglland Oase. Immediately after the indoor swimming pool, we keep left at the first crossroads. We follow this path for approx. one kilometer until we reach a crossroads where we turn right. Shortly afterwards, we reach the next refreshment and rest stop on our route, the Gasthof Bergler Stub'n. The path leads directly past the inn. About one kilometer after the inn, we keep left and then right. We follow this path until we reach our first destination, the Wildwiese with the hut, the observation tower and the Waldhauser chapel.

For the way back to Wenigzell, we continue to follow the signs and cross the route we took to the Wildwiese. However, we do not turn off in the direction of Gasthof Bergler Stub'n, but continue via the ski lift in Wenigzell, the Schneeland, to the Wetterkreuzen. After a short stretch on the country road, we turn right. Now we are also on a section of the Mountaibiketour "Der große Jogl". We follow this path and also pass the crossroads to the Bratlalm. After a short stretch on the main road, we reach the Buchtelbar and immediately afterwards our starting point, the village square of Wenigzell.

Climbing the 36-metre-high Wildwiesenwarte is an absolute must. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the Joglland - Waldheimat region, Eastern Styria and, on fine days, as far as Hungary.
Timetables and travel information can be found at Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) or at Verkehrsauskunft Verbundlinie. For local transportation we recommend the SAM-Sammeltaxi Oststeiermark.
