"The exhibition "Vom Fang - (aus den Netzen)" is part of a series of exhibitions that have been realised in recent years, in which the focus is on the dialogue between the different visual media of painting, drawing and photography that are used, and specifically refer to the spatial situation of the respective galleries.
While the main rooms of the gallery are dedicated to precisely this dialogue-based approach to paintings, drawings and photographs, the smaller, cabinet-like side rooms show photographic works that play around with different approaches to the pictorial worlds in examples." (Johannes Ziegler)
The two exciting works "FIXIERUNG" and "POLAROID SW" will be on display in the smaller rooms. "FIXIERUNG" plays with "glass panel apparatuses" and invites curious passers-by to look through these peep frames, to discover surprising perspectives on the trivial. In "POLAROID SW", Johannes Ziegler discovers those material weaknesses in the initially low-quality Polaroid material from the company Impossible™ that produce unusual contrasts and blurring and uses this for his "image perception".
Johannes Ziegler, born 1963 in Wels, Upper Austria, studied at the Mozarteum University Salzburg under Peter Prandstetter, lives and works as a visual artist in Salzburg.
