A little chat over a scoop of ice cream, a view of the village square with the smell of coffee in your nose, a hearty bite of fresh tarte flambée. The "Plausch am Platz" is the HerrgottHö's ice cream bar.
This year with self-service on the terrace and background music from the building site, from 2025 it will have a new look. A place for gossip, chat and intoxication.
Plausch am Platz is the coolest building site in Styria. There's something new in the middle of St. Stefan ob Stainz: Alex Strohmaier and Lukas Steinwender - with the whole HerrgottHö family - opened the "Plausch am Platz" on Friday, March 22, 2024, where the "Eiscafé Kainz" used to be. In order for the building on the village square to shine in new splendor, it will have to be planned, submitted and rebuilt once again, which is expected to take until summer 2025.
In the meantime, however, the place will become the "coolest building site in Styria". As usual, everyone can enjoy ice cream, coffee, spritzers and tarte flambée in the small but lovely garden with seven tables. If you want, you can grab a "Plausch to go" cup and find a nice spot in St Stefan ob Stainz.
But be careful:
The "Plausch am Platz" is only open in good weather, as are the outdoor pools. (Tuesday - Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Grand opening 2025:
A hui outside, a building site inside: While visitors can order ice cream and other delicacies from the display case inside, the "Plausch" is being planned and built. "This year we'll still have an alleyway store, but from next year everything will have a new look. We are looking forward to getting together with the people in the village and chatting... we want to find out what they want. We want to incorporate the wishes of our guests into our plans for a lively restaurant on the square," says Lukas, who is also looking forward to the opening in 2025.
