Weingut Kollerhof am Eichberg

Leutschach an der Weinstraße

Kollerhof am Eichberg It all begins in the vineyard, in the middle of nature. Nature and the endless expanses of vines provide a breathtaking view at the Kollerhof. Natural cultivation enables authentic, characterful wines of the highest quality. A great deal of patience, sensitivity, empathy, experience and passion are required to produce authentic wines from the grapes. Harald and Birgit accompany the wine on its journey as carefully as possible. We are advocates of originality. The origin of our wines should remain recognisable in every glass.

It's the best job in the world! Birgit and Harald Lieleg have not only found themselves, but also their fulfilment at the Kollerhof. The history of the family vineyard on the Eichberg near Leutschach dates back to the 16th century. A good thirty different paths lead up to this unconventional wine heaven. The area, which is somewhat off the beaten tourist track, is a small paradise. In all four directions, the often deep gorges of the Eichberg drop steeply from over 600 metres above sea level into the surrounding valleys. In this unspoilt landscape with its extensive old mixed forests, only the very best sites are used for viticulture on the Kollerhof. The basin locations and extremely steep slopes in the upper part of these canyon-like gorges are ideal for viticulture: the Eichberg conglomerate soils store the sun's energy from the very first ray of sunshine. Then comes the fresh Koralm wind, keeping this warmth just above the ground and allowing the grapes hanging above to ripen well chilled. These ideal conditions for aromatic, finely structured Sauvignons, Muskateller and co. make the wines from Kollerhof so incomparable.

Here there is also time for the guests - on the vineyard, in the wine tavern, in the wine museum or in the historic wine cellar.Harald Lieleg also takes a lot of time for his wines, from the archetypal local wines to the "Steinkogl" line, but also for exciting and extravagant wines from the amphora with skin fermentation or with other cellar secrets. In addition, kilometres of hiking trails as well as the hotel's own pram-friendly wine culture trail offer many opportunities to enjoy this unique wine landscape. So take your time to savour the wines from the Kollerhof!
