A long winter walk, a circular route with stunning views of the Hochgrail vineyards in St. Stefan ob Stainz. A chance to listen to nature and enjoy it to the full.
The view over the vineyards of Western Styria is simply stunning! The starting and finishing point for this easy hike is the Schilcherland car park in St. Stefan ob Stainz. Follow the path marked S10 and walk across the main square to the right, past a transformer station and a spreading spruce hedge. The path leads gently downhill across a meadow and then through a wooded area, still following the S10, to a romantic mill ruin. After that, the path climbs slightly and, through the woods, you can see the first chestnut trees of the “Pletteri”. At the edge of the forest, there is an opportunity to take a souvenir photo with Archduke Johann and Anna Plochl. Through the forest, past the cemetery of St. Stefan, the route leads across the main square back to the starting point.
