This circular route is a lovely short walk in southern Styria, offering plenty of places to stop for refreshments and some stunning views.

You start at the Ratscher Landhaus and head towards the Pilch Winery wine tavern, crossing the Nussberghöhe to the Gross Winery. From there, the route descends into the village of Ratsch, where you can stop for a bite to eat at the Schlauer Inn or the Uhl Winery wine tavern. Trail 21a leads through the forest up to the Hochstermetzberg, where you’ll be rewarded with a wonderful view at the Wolfgang Maitz Winery, Inn and Wine Hotel. The route continues through the vineyards to the Zweytick Robert Winery and Wine Bar and to the Herzerlbank at the Bullmann Winery, another photo spot with a breathtaking view. The hike runs along the national border and finally takes you up the Witscheinberg to the Rebenhof Winery, where you can catch a glimpse of Slovenia before returning to the starting point at the Ratscher Landhaus.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the Spielfeld exit, then continue towards Spielfeld-Graßnitzberg-Südsteirische Weinstraße. Keep left and follow the Südsteirische Weinstraße to Ratsch a.d. Weinstraße.

Der Weg führt über befestigte Straßen, Wald und Wiesenwege und durch Weingärten.

Vom Ratscher Landhaus ausgehend wandert Richtung Norden bzw. Weingut Buschenschank Pilch. Von hier aus Richtung Weingut Gross. Die Straße führt hier recht steil hinunter in den Ort Ratsch. Über den Hochstermetzberg geht es dann weiter zum Weingut Wolfgang Maitz. Ein kurzes Straßenstück entlang geht man vorbei am Weingut Buschenschank Kögl, bevor es durch die Weingärten hinab und hinauf zum Buschenschank Zweytick Robert und Susi geht. Von hier aus wandert man entlang der Südsteirischen Weinstraße (parallel dazu am Gehweg) zur Steiermark-Bank am Weingut Bullmann. Über eine Sackgassenstraße geht es in Richtung Rebenhof. Dieser letzte Anstieg wird nochmals mit einer tollen Aussicht belohnt, bevor es zum Ausgangspunkt retour geht.
