A varied cycle route around Trofaiach: the Panorama Bike I 802 combines quiet side roads, cycle paths and sections through unspoilt countryside with beautiful views of the Trofaiach mountains. A short tour for families and leisure cyclists

The Panorama Bike I 802 route covers around 13 kilometres through the varied countryside around Trofaiach. The route follows the former boundaries of Trofaiach prior to the municipal merger in 2013. From the former Gladen railway station, the route leads through the Gladen housing estate towards Rötz and on to the Mell Plateau. Along the way, built-up areas alternate with agricultural countryside and quiet stretches of road. The route continues around Trofaiach via Zlatten, the Schoberkreuz, Laintal and Wolkersdorf. Cycle paths, side roads, as well as gravel and short off-road sections provide plenty of variety. The Panorama Bike I combines a manageable route length with scenic and cultural highlights, making it ideal as a beginner’s tour or a leisurely ride.

The starting point is the former Gladen railway station. From there, the route first takes you through the Gladen housing estate and past the foot of the quartz quarry towards Rötz. It then climbs up to the Mell Plateau and continues towards Zlatten. Via the Schoberkreuz, the route descends into the Laintal valley. Particular caution is required on the short, steep descent. Via Laintal and Wolkersdorf, the route heads back towards Trofaiach. For the rest of the way, it mainly follows cycle paths and quiet side roads. The route passes through Gimplach and Unterkurzheim, and then along Gößgrabenstraße back towards Gladen. In the final section, the route runs past the Gladen dog training area and finally back to the starting point at the former Gladen railway station.
