Enjoy the loop trail in Marhof!

The hike begins at the Rauch Farm, between the asparagus field and the natural swimming pond, and takes you northward past corn and pumpkin fields belonging to Rohrbacher, a pumpkin seed oil farmer. Here, continue left along the trail; running parallel to the Maier Winery, the trail leads you along a dirt road into a beautiful mixed forest. A short climb into the forest follows. The trail first leads through a forest, which then transitions into a dirt road. You’ll reach the village of Marhof after about 45 minutes of walking. A climb along a meadow path leads up to Marhofberg and Kornkneul. Once you reach the paved road, turn right for the final few meters to the highest point. At the fork in the trail, turn right along the paved road (about 200 m) until you reach the sign for the “Marhofer Genusswanderweg,” then turn left into the forest. In the forest, the trail descends all the way to the Schilcher Wine Route, which leads toward Stainz or Greisdorf. Here, turn right and then left back along the dirt road to the starting point at Rauch-Hof.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the A2 toward Klagenfurt at the Graz-West interchange. Take the Lieboch exit and follow the B76 toward Lannach-Deutschlandsberg.

Beim Rauch-Hof startet die Wanderung beim Naturbadeteich zwischen dem Spargelfeld und dem Naturbadeteich und führt Sie in nördlicher Richtung zwischen Mais- und Kürbisäckern beim Kernölbauern Rohrbacher vorbei. Hier geht es links entlang des Wanderweges weiter und parallel zum Vinariat Meyer führt Sie der Wanderweg über einen Feldweg in einen schönen Mischwald. Hier erfolgt ein kleiner Anstieg in den Wald. Der Weg führt durch einen herrlichen Mischwald der dann in einen Feldweg über geht. In der Ortschaft Marhof kommt gleich zum ersten Genusspunkt der Mostschenke Schriebl, die erreicht man nach ca. 30-45 Gehminuten. Nach weiteren 10 Minuten erreicht man das Weingut Schriebl in nordöstlicher Richtung. Ab hier erfolgt ein Anstieg über einem Wiesenweg hinauf nach Marhofberg und Kornkneul, bei der Asphaltstraße angekommen, geht es nach rechts die letzten Meter bis zum höchsten Punkt. Auf Höhe der Vermietung Gröblbauer ist der höchste Punkt der Wanderung erreicht. An der Weggabelung geht man nach rechts entlang der Asphaltstraße (ca. 200m) bis zur Markierung "Marhofer Genusswanderweg" links in den Wald. Im Wald ist der Wegverlauf nur mehr bergab bis zur Schilcherweinstraße die in Richtung Stainz oder Greisdorf führt. Hier gehen wir nach rechts bis zur Mostschenke Schriebl und dann nach links den Feldweg zurück bis zum Ausgangspunkt Rauch-Hof.
