From Wörschach to Stainach goes the trail that leads through a beech forest and along rock walls and brooks.

Between Wörschach and Niederhofen you will discover this fine trail along rock walls and a nice brook, which is fortunately not only reserved for blue bloods. In Niederhofen you return near the castle Friedstein. Here you have the choice how to start the way back. The same way back through the forest or the somewhat easier, flatter way along the accompanying road to the main road - just as you like or your feet still want.

Coming from Schladming or Liezen, turn off the B320 in Wörschach, drive through the village in the direction of the town center until you reach the municipal office.
Free-Parking at the Municipal Office Wörschach

We start at the municipal office in Wörschach. The hike leads past the Weitgasser Inn, along a path through the beech forest, along rock faces and streams to Friedstein Castle with Calvary. You can return either via the accompanying path along the main road or via the Weitgasser Inn.

Turn back in good time if the weather deteriorates. If you get caught in a thunderstorm, stay away from individual trees. Wait out the storm, if possible in a crouching position.
Stay on marked trails and remember to close pasture fences.In case of emergency, keep calm and call the mountain rescue on 140. If you have no reception, take out the sim card and dial 112.
If you encounter cows: It is best to pass above the herd with at least 50 meters distance. Stay calm, don't make any frantic movements and don't run away. Do not imitate cow sounds and do not try to pet the animals. A stick and loud shouting can often make the animals turn back in an emergency.
If you are a dog owner: Clarify before the hike if you have to cross a pasture. Keep your dog on a leash and make sure he stays calm. If a cow attacks, let the dog off the leash immediately. Never pick him up to defend him.

For this tour, shoes with a light tread and clothing appropriate for the weather are sufficient. Pack in your backpack perhaps also a small snack to enjoy the nature at a rest.
