Extensive walk with beautiful viewpoints of Fischbach. Accessible throughout with a pram.

This path takes us past fragrant mountain meadows, cooling forests and flower-decorated farmhouses along the little-used asphalt road through what the locals call “Mitterstuck”.

From Vienna via the A2 Südautobahn highway and the S6 Semmering expressway to the Kindberg exit. Here through the Stanzertal valley on the Schanzsattel-Landesstraße L114 to Fischbach.

From Graz via the Weizer-Bundesstraße B72 to Birkfeld and from here via the Schanzsattel-Landesstraße L114 to Fischbach.

From Linz/Salzburg/Munich via the Pyhrnautobahn A9 and the Semmering-Schnellstraße S6 to the Kindberg exit. Continue as above.

Fischbach, village square (free)

We start at the Fischbach village square and walk north along the village road slightly uphill , until we turn left after Veronika's Kräuterhof (on the right-hand side of the road) and are now on path no. 9
We follow trail no. 9 straight ahead and after a short climb through a cooling forest we come to the Hönigshof rest stop
After a short rest, we continue our hike through the cool forest, past fragrant mountain meadows, well-tended fields, and flower-adorned farmhouses.
After a short steep section at the Zinkhof farm, we continue on to trail no. 10, along which we walk back - with wonderful views of Fischbach - until we return to trail no. 9 to our starting point

A few tips on correct and fair behaviour in the forest: (Source: www.bundesforste.at )

Hikers should avoid visits to the forest about 1.5 hours before sunrise and after sunset, as wild animals are particularly active during this time.

Plastic bottles, handkerchiefs, cigarette butts etc. have no place in the forest! Please make sure that you do not leave any rubbish in the forest.

Camping and lighting fires are strictly forbidden in the forest!
In principle, every person is allowed to pick 2 kg of mushrooms and berries per day for personal use. It is only prohibited if the forest owner expressly forbids it.

Route description
Before starting the hike, check the possibilities for refreshments, including opening times, or pack appropriate food and drink.

The natural swimming pond is ideal for cooling off in summer.
