A lovely hike with plenty to discover.
The hike begins across from the entrance (the archway) to Stainz Castle. This trail is managed by the Merano Forestry Office. The trail runs for a long stretch along the idyllic Lemsitzbach stream and also alongside a fence enclosing the Bründlwald forest. This fenced-in area is part of a forestry enclosure, as experiments are being conducted here to regulate the game population. Small installations have been set up along the route—which are particularly interesting for children. For example, you can discover nesting boxes near the old granary. There is a beekeeping nature trail and information boards about the flora and fauna along the Lemsitzbach stream.
