Walk in the footsteps of the Celts and gain insight into the different characters of the trees.
Trees have fascinated man since time immemorial. The Celts were a very nature-loving people. They lived with nature without exploiting it and tried to learn from it. They recognized different characters in the trees. So they also divided the different seasons into tree seasons. Whole days were assigned to a certain tree. People who are now born under the sign of this tree resemble their birth tree in character. Trees live. They are - like all of us - creatures of nature. The Celtic division of time does not measure with weeks and months, but with those 40 periods of different length, which correspond to the life and growth cycles of the trees within a year. Along the way, the 21 trees of the Celtic Tree Horoscope are introduced and their special meaning explained. According to the Celtic division of time, 21 trees are assigned to the 365 days of our calendar. Some trees are valid for a longer period of time.

The trail then climbs uphill past a vineyard to the ridge. In a scenic location and along orchards you walk towards Bertholdstein Castle. In front of the entrance stands a mighty copper beech, a true natural monument. The circular route now leads parallel to a forest path downhill, past Gasthof Zach and Buschenschank Krois to the starting point in Pertlstein, where you can taste wonderful beers nearby at the Walhalla Genusskulisse.
