This route offers a not too difficult way to get from the centre of Spital am Semmering to the Friedrichhütte by mountain bike.

Das Befahren der MTB-Strecke ist von 15. Mai bis 15. Oktober 2 Stunden nach Sonnenaufgang und bis 2 Stunden vor Sonnenuntergang gestattet und erfolgt auf eigene Gefahr!

Coming from Vienna, leave the S6 - Semmering motorway at Spital am Semmering. Follow the road that leads you directly to the centre of Spital.

Coming from Graz, leave the S6 - Semmering motorway at Mürzzuschlag Ost. Turn right here and follow the main road to Spital am Semmering.

We start our tour in the centre of Spital am Semmering, ride past the church towards the middle station of the Stuhleck 4-seater chairlift. At the Kneipp facility we find a route overview board. We follow the road to Sonnwinkel. Here we leave the tarmac road and follow it to the left to the forest chapel. At the Gaißschlager Mühle (mill), the path joins the Langebenweg on the right, which then becomes the Rehkögerlweg to the Friedrichhütte mountain inn.

The route can be ridden directly in the Sonnwinkel - Gaißschlager Mühle area - this variant is 2 km shorter.

Stop off at the Friedrichhütte and enjoy the sun on the cosy terrace!

Take the train to Spital am Semmering.
