In historic wagons, you travel through the Upper Mur Valley, along the green Mur, through picturesque mountain scenery, past forests and meadows. An experience that makes the heart of every railway enthusiast beat faster. In Stadl an der Mur, the filling of the water tender of the steam locomotive can be observed and photographed. Musical entertainment and culinary delicacies on the train round off this railway experience.

Steam train rides take place in the summer months on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays, starting from Murau to Tamsweg. You can also realize the dream of driving a locomotive on the Murtalbahn: Anyone who wants to operate the regulator, valves, and locomotive whistle can try it out during an amateur locomotive ride. Individual special trips for groups or for special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, or anniversaries are possible year-round.
