Literaturhaus Graz
Graz
Readings, discussions, and stories – experience the diversity of contemporary literature.
The Literaturhaus Graz has been located in the university district since 2003. It has found its place in a renovated city palace that combines historic atmosphere with modern facilities. With a courtyard and café, it is now a central place for literature and exchange in the Graz Region.
The program brings together regional, German-speaking, and international authors. Readings, poetry slams, performances, and discussion formats create space for exchange. Series like "Classics Revisited" or "Science Meets Poetry" connect tradition and present.
With "Bookolino," the Literaturhaus specifically targets young readers: picture book cinema, workshops, and moderated readings bring literature to life in a playful way. Also based in the house is the Franz-Nabl-Institut, which connects research with literary life and preserves significant collections – such as those by Frischmuth, Roth, or Schwab.
The Literaturhaus is easily accessible by tram lines 4 and 5 (station "Universitätsviertel/Literaturhaus") as well as several bus lines. Tickets for readings, festivals, or exclusive series like “Roboter mit Senf” are available directly on site.
