From the school center along the family ski run towards Grebenzen, you can enjoy a wonderful winter hike. Don't forget your snowshoes, otherwise you'll have to trudge through the snow.

By car from Germany
From Munich via the A8 towards Salzburg. From Salzburg, take the A10 Tauern Autobahn to St. Michael im Lungau. Take the B 96 to Tamsweg, then continue on the B 95 to Predlitz. The
B 97 leads via Stadl/Mur to Murau. At the roundabout, continue to Murau train station and on via Laßnitz bei Murau to St. Lambrecht. After the monastery walls, turn left to the swimming pool parking lot.
Arriving from eastern Austria/Hungary
At the motorway junction in St. Michael near Leoben, take the S 36 towards Klagenfurt. Pass
Knittelfeld and Judenburg to Scheifling. In Scheifling, continue towards Klagenfurt to Neumarkt in der Steiermark, via Unzmarkt and Perchau am Sattel. In Neumarkt, turn right towards Mariahof and St. Lambrecht. In Mariahof, turn left after the railroad crossing towards St. Lambrecht. After the town sign in St. Lambrecht, turn right towards the swimming pool parking lot.
Arriving from southern Austria/Italy
Via Klagenfurt on the S 37, pass St. Veit/Glan, Treibach, and Friesach. In Friesach, continue
towards Vienna, via Dürnstein and Wildbad to Neumarkt. After the town center of Neumarkt, turn left towards Mariahof and St. Lambrecht. In Mariahof, turn left after the railroad crossing towards St. Lambrecht. After the town sign in St. Lambrecht, turn right to the swimming pool parking lot.
Behind the St. Lambrecht school center, we first walk uphill along the family ski run. Shortly after passing the “Pirkbauer” on the right, the path would lead us into the forest. However, we stay on the meadow and walk left along the edge of the forest, which we now follow. This means our path makes a large arc to the left. When we see the “Moar zu Schwarzenbach” farm ahead of us, we walk straight towards it. We pass it on the left and return to our starting point, the school center.
