Directions to the entry point:

In Wescheid turn off in the direction of Niederalpl/Mürzzuschlag, in Aschbach turn right into Rotsohlgraben and follow the road to the barrier.

Small parking lot at the barrier in the Rotsohlgraben at the starting point
From the parking lot at the Sommerauer homestead, this ski tour leads us into the valley, on the forest road past a game gate and always keeping left to the Bärentalhütte (hunting lodge). Up to the hunting lodge we always follow the forest road. Continue through a trough-shaped valley (possibly avalanche danger) to the Gingatzwiese. From here, head in a southwesterly direction to the high plateau of the Veitsch and to the summit. Attention: In fog, orientation from the Gingatzwiese to the summit is very difficult.

Descent: as ascent

In fog, orientation from the Gingatzwiese to the summit is very difficult.

The tour is undertaken at your own risk! No liability is assumed with regard to any given or occurring alpine dangers (avalanche, weather, etc.). Important note: Before each ski tour or snowshoe hike, it is essential to consult the current avalanche report - available at www.lawine-steiermark.at.

Mountain sports and the assessment of the situation on site is subject - even more so in winter - primarily to personal responsibility. Tourism associations or avalanche warning services can therefore not assume any liability based on information provided.

Emergency call mountain rescue: 140

Tip for emergency reporting - give answers to the six W-questions: What happened? How many injured? Where did the accident happen (possibly GPS coordinates)? Who is reporting (callback number)? When did the accident happen? Weather at the accident site?
