A popular mountain tour in the Eselsberger Alm with beautiful views, but requires surefootedness.
The ascent is on a wel-marked alpine trail. In between you also pass some mountain pine fields. The transition from the east side to the south side is very impressive, as the trail meanders between the rocks to the come to a meadow trail on the back.
The magnificent view of the Petz´n lakes rewards the ascent.

More information
Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Here turn right in the direction of Murau. In Niederwölz turn right towards Oberwölz. In Oberwölz keep left towards Pöllau am Greim. Follow the road towards Eselsberg until you reach the huts.
Coming from Tamsweg via Ranten drive to Schöder. In Schöder continue until you reach St. Peter am Kammersberg. Here keep left and drive in the direction of Pöllau am Greim. From there, follow the road in the direction of Eselsberg until you reach the huts.
Starting point is the Knollihütte - alternatively you can also start from the Hölzerhütte. Above the Hölzerhütte leads a relatively new path. Follow this path until you reach a fork on the right. Follow the markings of trail no. 923 until you reach some "Lacken". In steep serpentines follow the path 923A uphill past mountain pines and large bpulders until a notch becomes visible in the direction of the east. This is to be crossed. Descend a few meters to avoid the rocky ridge. From here the path is exposed in places and leads over the southern flank to the summit cross.

Dry and sunny throughout the day with hardly any clouds.
Sunny in the morning, but increasingly cloudy during the day. Showers will be possible towards evening.
