More information
We park at the Frauenberg Pilgrimage Church parking lot and start off by heading downhill. We’ll save the impressive church for the grand finale of this shaded loop. After about 500 meters, we turn left onto the forest trail, which runs gently parallel to the hillside. But then watch out: on the south side, we now follow the hiking trail—the old “Bettlersteig”—as it climbs steeply up to the church. A phenomenal view awaits the diligent hiker. Of course, a visit to the pilgrimage church and a brief moment of prayer are also a wonderful opportunity to catch your breath. On the way back to the parking lot lies the Kalvarienberg, a remarkable ensemble of works by the Austrian Baroque sculptor Josef Stammel.
