Hiking at Loser mountain
General Information
Is there anything more beautiful than a hiking tour on a lovely summer day, amidst the mountains of Ausseerland Salzkammergut? At the local mountain of Altaussee, the distinctive Loser, there are numerous hikes and tours to discover. From mid-June to the end of October, the trained mountain guide Christian Remschak is out and about every Saturday starting at 08:30 a.m. with hiking enthusiasts at the mountain Loser.
After the meeting point directly at the Loser Arena by the valley station, a comfortable ascent takes place using the Loser Panoramabahn cable car to the mountain station at a total elevation of 1,600 meters.
The hike starts at the mountain station, where the trail leads to the majestic Loser summit at an elevation of 1,838 meters. A breathtaking view over the Ausseerland region and the mountains of Tote Gebirge is the reward. The hike continues to the second summit of the day: the Hochanger. Subsequently, the hike leads further to the famous Loserfenster (Loser-window), a popular photo spot at the mountain. To conclude, the tour passes by the picturesque lake Augstsee, which impresses with its crystal-clear water.
The Loser hike ends at the mountain station of the Loser Panoramabahn, where the 360-degree panorama can be admired once again during the descent.
