Winter walk around the natural jewel Lake Erlaufsee

Lake Erlaufsee is one of the top 5 power places in the Mariazell region. Power places have a striking, unique appearance and have a special energy. Even in winter, a walk around the lake is ideal.

The clear mountain lake is located 3 km northeast of Mariazell at an altitude of 827 m on the border between Styria and Lower Austria.

Coming from Bruck an der Mur on the B20 over the Seebergsattel and through Gußwerk, past Mariazell, in St. Sebstian turn left onto Erlaufseestraße. Always follow the course of the road.

Coming from St. Pölten via B20 (Annaberg and Josefsberg) through Mitterbach to St. Sebastian, in St. Sebastian turn right onto Erlaufseestraße, always follow the road. Or already in Mitterbach turn right onto Seestraße, always follow the course of the road.

We start the winter hike at the bus stop at the Erlaufsee and walk along the right shore of the lake. Now we pass Gut Lindenhof and follow the Neukoglerweg until we reach the left shore of the lake.

On the left shore of the lake we walk back along the main road to our starting point.

ATTENTION: In winter there are no refreshment facilities at the Erlaufsee.
