"Heavenly place" on the way to Wichtelhütte
On the hike to the Wichtelhütte, the village of Hohentauern and the striking Triebenstein are always in view. The closer you get to your destination, the more peaks of the Rottenmanner and Triebener Tauern and the Gesäuse appear.

From Trieben on the Pyhrn A9 Highway, take the B114 to Hohentauern (12 km, about 20 minutes). From Judenburg, take the B114 to Hohentauern (42 km, about 45 minutes).
On the gently ascending serpentines of the forest road, constantly accompanied by the breathtaking panorama of the Bösenstein group, you reach the Wichtelhütte. Well known to all skiers in winter, the hut which is closed in summer, offers a fantastic panoramic view and is therefore ideal as a picnic spot.
You can get a heavenly picnic at the local department store.
