Fantastic tour in the Murtal region with a magnificent panoramic view from the Zirbitzkogel to the Julian Alps. The beautiful mountain village of Obdach is located at your feet.

Weißensteinhütte - Ameringkogel (2187m) - Hofalmkogel (2187m) - Speikkogel (1993m) - Peterer Sattel - Sturmerhütte (1726) - Weißensteinhütte. From the Weißensteinhütte up to the Ameringkogel, further to the Speikkogel and over the Peterer Sattel back to the Weißensteinhütte.

1.6.-15.9.: Access possible up to Weißensteinhütte. Out of season access only possible to barriers well below the hut. Additional ascent: around 01:15-01:30 hours longer.

Starting from the rustic Weißensteinhütte, 1702m, we hike along the hiking trail in the direction of Weißenstein and further to the Ameringkogel, 2187m. A wonderful view of Judenburg-Knittelfeld with the surrounding mountains are waiting for us here.

Back to Weißenstein, we hike over the broad ridge to Hofalmkogel, 2040m, from there we make a detour to Speikogel, 1993m. Now we walk a bit back to the junction, there we keep left, and walk comfortably downhill back to our 'starting point.

From 1 June - 15 Sept. access to the hut is allowed!

This tour is NOT considered "accessible by train and bus" because there is no regular connection
