This demanding tour starts at the valley station of Hauser Kaibling and leads along varied forest and alpine roads through the Schladming-Dachstein region.
Long climbs, quiet forest sections, and wide alpine pastures accompany you up to the Storn Alm with beautiful views.
Optionally, the summit of the Kufstein can be reached on foot (2:30h).
For the return, you can take a paid singletrack from Weißenbach (free with the Schladming-Dachstein Card) or choose the more relaxed option via the road.
Permitted riding times: from April 01 to October 31, and from two hours after sunrise until two hours before sunset.

From Salzburg: Follow the A10 to Altenmarkt. There, join the B320 and continue towards Liezen. Take the exit for Hauser Kaibling.
From Graz: Follow the A9 to Liezen. There, join the B320 and continue towards Schladming. Take the exit for Hauser Kaibling.
Continue through Birnberg Oberdörfl and past the Timmelbauer onto the Strimitzweg. This is followed by a long climb through Rössing, passing the Alte Mühle. Shortly after a parking area, turn right onto the Gabäckerweg, which leads you towards the Silberkarklamm.
Then follow the Rössingweg further. After the Burgstaller holiday settlement, turn left and continue up to the Storn Alm. Just before reaching the hut, you need to leave your bike, as riding further is not allowed. From here, you can optionally hike up to the Kufstein summit (2:30h).
After a break, the descent takes you via Gsengwand, Burgstaller, and Passeck back to Weißenbach. From there, you can either take the paid singletrack (free with the Schladming-Dachstein Card) or return to the Hauser Kaibling valley station via the road.
- Plan breaks: Along the route, many huts and inns invite you to stop for a relaxing break and enjoy regional specialties.
- E-mountain bike: With electric support, the tour is also suitable for less experienced bikers. There are several e-bike charging stations along the route. Their locations can be seen on the map and in the elevation profile, making it easy to plan your tour and possible charging stops.
Take the train to Haus im Ennstal station, then continue about 2 km by bike to the valley station of the 8-person gondola.
There are plenty of free parking spaces available at the Hauser Kaibling valley station.
