A leisurely hike through forest passages for the whole family.

The municipality of Stadl an der Mur, with around 1,000 inhabitants, is located on the upper reaches of the Mur. The leisure center with a swimming lake, wooden playground, tennis court, beach volleyball court and halfpipe for inline skaters are the special offers of this place. For those seeking adventure, rafting on the Mur is an unforgettable experience. Stadl is located directly on the Mur cycle path and has created a “gateway into the Murtal” with the new wooden Mursteg. The Reitermühle am Lunzenbach is also worth a visit. The reactivated mill is intended to preserve and illustrate a piece of the rural working world.

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Keep right here and continue straight on via Teufenbach, Frojach, Murau and St. Georgen ob Murau to Stadl an der Mur.

Coming from Tamsweg, follow the road via Ramingstein and Predlitz straight on to Stadl an der Mur.

The starting point is the Gasthof Murtalerhof, in Stadl an der Mur. From there you walk along the Mur cycle path and the information boards to Reitermühle. Hiking trail no. 11 begins at the mill (red-white-red markings). Follow the markings to the Hansbauer farm. Once there, follow the branching path back into the valley, past the Calvary Church to the starting point.
