This is a walk in St. Marein bei Neumarkt, which leads along meadows, through the forest and past Lind Castle.

This route is also ideal for families and children. The landscape around Neumarkt is therefore perfect for exploring.

By car from Germany
From Munich, take the A8 towards Salzburg. From Salzburg, take the A10 Tauern Autobahn to St. Michael im Lungau. Take the B 96 to Tamsweg, then continue on the B 95 to Predlitz. The B 97 leads via Stadl/Mur to Murau. At the roundabout, head to Murau train station and continue via Laßnitz bei Murau to St. Lambrecht and Mariahof. In Mariahof, turn right towards Neumarkt in der Steiermark. Continue to St. Marein bei Neumarkt, where you should turn right immediately after the pedestrian traffic lights.

Arriving from eastern Austria/Hungary
At the motorway junction in St. Michael bei Leoben, take the S 36 towards Klagenfurt. Pass Knittelfeld and Judenburg to Scheifling. In Scheifling, continue over the Perchauer Sattel towards Klagenfurt. After Neumarkt in der Steiermark, turn right immediately after the pedestrian traffic lights towards St. Marein bei Neumarkt.

Arriving from southern Austria/Italy
Via Klagenfurt on the S 37, pass St. Veit/Glan, Treibach, and Friesach. In Friesach, continue towards Vienna, via Dürnstein and Wildbad Einöd to St. Marein bei Neumarkt. Turn left just before the pedestrian traffic lights.

Start at the NaturLese Garden in St. Marein and walk past the church towards Mühldorf. At the crossroads in Mühldorf, keep left and then continue straight ahead. Follow the signs through the forest towards Lind Castle. Once you arrive at Lind Castle, you can visit the “Andere Heimatmuseum” (Other Homeland Museum). From Lind Castle, continue along the road and then follow the Olsa stream back to the starting point.
