The Styrian part of the Alpannonia long-distance hiking trail, which leads from Semmering or Fischbach and the Fischbach Alps via the Hochwechsel and the Bucklige Welt to Köszeg.

  • Via the Niederwechsel we reach the Wetterkoglerhaus
  • At the Hochwechsel we can see practically the entire route of the main alpannonia trail
  • From the Wetterkoglerhaus we descend gently via Schwaigen to the Feistritzsattel saddle
  • We meet the main trail coming from Semmering
  • We hike downhill and uphill mostly through forests before making the ascent to the Pfaffensattel saddle
  • Now we reach the Stuhleck, the highest point of aplannonia
  • Now we hike along the Pretulalpe to the Rosegger Schutzhaus
  • From there we hike on the Rattener Alm, with a striking wind farm, steadily downhill to the Alpl
  • From the Alpl we take a leisurely walk to the Almtor, from where we can reach the Teufelstein summit (1499m) in around 15 minutes via a turn-off
  • Via the “Zellerkreuz” we reach our destination - the center of Fischbach.
