Welcome to the Demeter Winery Monschein – your idyllic retreat in the heart of the Styrian volcanic region in Straden. Surrounded by gentle hills and untouched nature, nature lovers, those seeking tranquility, and connoisseurs will find the ideal place to unwind and recharge. Here, they will find the perfect starting point for many cycling and hiking trails in southern Styria.
The winery is run by vintners Alexandra and Klaus Monschein with great dedication and in accordance with the principles of biodynamic viticulture. Sustainability, mindfulness, and a respectful relationship with nature are at the center of our daily actions – and are reflected in the quality and character of our wines.
In addition to our wine production, we offer lovingly designed nature rooms. Our cozy rooms are retreats that have been crafted with great attention to detail, providing space for relaxation and deceleration.
The option to join the rich breakfast buffet can be added on-site at any time and ensures a delightful start to the day with regional products.

Conditions for room rental at the Demeter Winery Monschein:
- Booking and reservation: - Your reservation is confirmed by a booking confirmation. - Please inform us in advance if you have special requirements so that we can prepare accordingly.
- Cancellation policy: - Cancellations up to 14 days before the planned arrival date are free of charge. - Cancellations made less than 14 days before the planned arrival date are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the total amount. Cancellations made less than a week before the arrival day will be charged 90% of the total arrangement price.
- Payment: - The total cost for your stay is due at check-out. - We accept cash and major credit cards.
- Breakfast buffet: - We highly recommend you let us know on the day of arrival.
- Single occupancy: separate room rate
- Discounts: - For stays of 6 nights or more, we offer one free night.
- Children and extra beds: - Children of all ages are welcome. - Accommodation for children up to 3 years is free in the parents' bed. Extra beds, including bed linens, are available upon request for an additional fee of €20.
- Pets: - Pets are allowed upon request. - Please inform us in advance about your pet so we can make appropriate arrangements, as not all rooms are suitable for pets. The surcharge per pet is €20.
- Check-in and check-out: - Check-in is possible between 16:00 and 18:00. - Check-out is between 10:00 and 11:00 on the day of departure. - Individual check-in and check-out times can be arranged upon prior agreement.
- Smoking policy: - Our rooms and public areas are non-smoking zones. Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas.
