What wild, brave guys they were - in 1907, a handful of adventurous men set out to build the very first refuge here on Hauser Kaibling. Back then, they laid the foundation for today's skiing and hiking paradise.

On the themed hiking trail "In the footsteps of the pioneers" on Hauser Kaibling you can virtually hike into the past. From the Quattralpina mountain station (Krummholzhütte) to the 8-seater cable car mountain station, you will dive into the more than 100-year-old history of Hauser Kaibling. Packed in exciting short stories, you will learn everything about the first hut, the construction of the first cable car and how it came to be that you can now float up to the Hauser Kaibling with gondolas.

Ennstalbundesstraße (B320) - Haus im Ennstal: valley station Hauser Kaibling cable car (directly next to the main road)

Der Themenwanderweg "Auf den Spuren der Pioniere" am Hauser Kaibling führt entlang des Ernest-Reitzner-Weg Nr. 780. Der Weg kann bergab oder bergauf begangen werden.

Bergab: Bergstation Quattralpina (der Weg startet direkt neben der Krummholzhütte) bis zur Mittelstation.
Bergauf: 8er-Gondelbahn Bergstation (der Weg startet bei der Schmiedhütte) bis zur Quattralpina Bergstation (Krummholzhütte).

Auf dem Ernest-Reitzner-Weg (Nr. 780) kann man auch noch weiter bis zur Talstation Schladminger Tauern Seilbahn wandern.
