The short tour leads through long forest to the Rittschein (long variant also leads to the Feistritz).

The sparse mixed forest with partly steep slopes allows "deep" views. The plant diversity is impressive and what you may not see of the wildlife, you at least hear. At the end there are many beautiful viewpoints, including the VINO.TAKE Kowald with an awesome view.

FROM VIENNA & LOWER AUSTRIA:
By car: Süd-Autobahn (A2) to exit Ilz/Fürstenfeld. From here via Fürstenfeld bypass to Bad Loipersdorf.

FROM THE DIRECTION OF GRAZ:
By car: on the A2 motorway in the direction of Vienna as far as the Ilz/Fürstenfeld exit. From here via Fürstenfeld bypass to Bad Loipersdorf.

FROM WEST AUSTRIA AND BAVARIA:
By car: via Salzburg on the Phyrn freeway (A9) and the Süd freeway (A2) or via Carinthia on the Süd freeway (A2) to the Ilz/Fürstenfeld exit. From here via Fürstenfeld bypass to Bad Loipersdorf.

FROM ITALY OR SLOVENIA: By car: via Villach on the southern freeway (A2) to the Ilz - Fürstenfeld - Bad Loipersdorf exit or via Maribor on the Phyrn freeway (A9) and the southern freeway (A2) in the direction of Vienna to the Ilz/Fürstenfeld exit. From here via Fürstenfeld bypass to Bad Loipersdorf. Detailed information on how to get there can be found here.

Vom Thermenausgang geht es rechts hinauf auf den Krafthügel - oben angelangt wiederum rechts halten. Vorbei an einem kleinen Weingarten und einem Waldstück kommt man zur Schaffelbadstraße. Dieser 50 m folgen und links Richtung Henndorf/Golfplatz abbiegen. Nach 50 m links von der Straße in den Hofwald einbiegen. Hier folgt man talwärts die längste Zeit dem beschilderten Forstweg. Nach fast 3 km erreicht man die Verbindungsstraße Gillersdorf/Therme. Hier geht es links entlang der Straße bis zur Rittscheinbrücke. Hier könnte man sich entscheiden doch noch die lange Variante zu wandern (geradeaus über die Brücke). Für die kurze Variante geht man hier vor der Brücke links der Straße weiter. Nach ca. 500 m biegt man links in den Schotterweg ein und folgt diesem ca. 700 m bevor man danach rechts zuerst leicht und dann stärker ansteigend wieder bergwärts geht. Vorbei an einigen Häusern wird man aber mit einer schönen Fernsicht ins Feistritz- bzw. Lafnitztal belohnt. Beim Hartbergschlössel (in Privatbesitz) vorbei, biegt man - bevor man zur Landesstraße kommt - hinter dem Dreilandhof in einen Gehweg ein. Dieser führt immer abseits der Straße wieder zur Therme zurück. Vorher sollte man noch die schöne Fernsicht - besonders auf der Aussichtsterrasse der VINO.TAKE Kowald - genießen.
