EATING OUT IN THE MURAU REGION

The restaurants, inns, mountain huts and fine-dining restaurants of the Murau region serve a vast selection of delicacies, always with a side of authentic hospitality.

Double the pleasure awaits hikers at the huts: The eye is spoilt by a magnificent view of the Murau mountains. The palate, on the other hand, enjoys typical snacks, which of course include the region's famous Murtaler Steirerkäse cheese. Sweet temptations such as Kaiserschmarren or Buchteln complete the range of hut cuisine.

Exquisite dishes are conjured up by the award-winning chefs in the three award-winning restaurants in the Genussregion. With multi-course gourmet menus, you can indulge in dishes made mainly from regional ingredients.

Culinary tip: Slow Food at the Hotel Landsitz Pichlschloss! Less is more - true to this motto, guests mainly enjoy products from the hotel's own slow food farm and pond. The owners of the castle, Katrin and Matthias Heindl, attach great importance to preparing their dishes as sustainably and naturally as possible.
