Culinary and communicative center in the AlmDorf is the Tonnerhütte with the AlmKuchl at 1,600 m above sea level. Cooking is fresh, digestible, and seasonal. The ingredients are mostly organic and from the region – just like in the past.
The hut offers the best starting point for hiking, strolling, or conquering the Zirbitzkogel.

The Almdorf Tonnerhütte has been in family ownership since 1937. 3 alpine huts and 8 apartments are idyllically situated at an altitude of 1600m, surrounded by alpine meadows and Swiss stone pine forests, with a panorama that embraces the soul. The Zirbitzkogel, standing powerfully at 2396m, overlooks the Almdorf, while below lies the Zirbitzkogel Grebenzen Nature Park with its gentle mountain ridges. The luxury is in the seclusion – ideal for escaping the hectic world.

The hosts Daniel and Patrick warmly welcome you to the Tonnerhütte. While Daniel passionately prepares fresh, regional specialties in the kitchen, Patrick takes care of your well-being and creates a pleasant atmosphere in the service. Together, they stand for genuine hospitality, the best quality, and unforgettable moments of enjoyment in the mountains. A new alpine experience is offered by "Der Kugl-Woid" – four unique wooden slides made from local larch – each with its own little surprise.
