The picturesque circular hike through Gamlitz and parts of the South Styrian Wine Road is a true delight!

You start from the parking lot at the Strauss winery and walk upstream along the stream, across meadows, into the mixed forest at Steinbach. From there, you descend on the Haiditschweg trail, follow the educational path through the vineyards at the Haidic winery, and then climb up the other side along the edge of the forest to the "South Styrian Wine Road". The route leads past excellent wine taverns and wineries until you arrive back at the starting point.

Coming from Graz, take the A9 motorway, then take the Vogau exit. Follow the B69 towards Ehrenhausen until you reach Gamlitz. Drive through Gamlitz for about 700 meters, then turn left towards Steinbach.

From the parking lot at the Karl & Gustav Strauss Winery upstream along the stream across meadows into the mixed forest at Steinbach. - From there down the Haiditschweg, along the nature trail in the middle of the vineyards at the Haidic winery and on the other side at the edge of the forest up to the South Styrian Wine Road past the Tschermoneg winery, Buschenschank Pschait - past the Weinrefugium Brolli , the trail leads past through vineyards back to the starting point.

The Karl & Gustav Strauss winery in Gamlitz not only offers delicious wines, but also a breathtaking view of the Gamlitzberg mountain. A perfect spot for a photo stop!

Many starting points for our hikes in southern Styria can also be reached by public transport.

For a relaxed and sustainable journey, we recommend travelling by bus and train wherever possible. Depending on the region, additional local transport options are available.
