Mattelsberg circular hiking trail no. 7

The hike begins at the Grossklein municipal office and leads 300 m in the direction of Kleinklein at the Raiffeisenbank before turning right onto the municipal path towards Mattelsberg. Past the Buschenschank HaHü, the trail leads right over the Mattelsberg down into the Nestelbachgraben. The route runs in the valley to the right for a short distance and after the bridge to the left and finally up along the edge of the forest towards Nestelberg to the water tank. Along the vineyards, you finally reach the main road to Nestelbach through a section of forest, which you cross to reach the Fahrenbach valley along the municipal path. After 500 m in a southerly direction along the Fahrenbach stream, turn right up the municipal path towards Hammerkogel before returning to the municipal path towards Großklein. Along the Windischgrabenbach stream you finally return to the starting point in Großklein.

Alternative 7a: This route runs along the southern slope of the Mattelsberg largely on municipal paths and offers the possibility of shortening the main route.
