A wonderful hike with a varied landscape and places to stop for refreshments.

The Heimschuher Rundwanderweg Süd (Heimschuher South Circular Trail) begins at the municipal office and runs eastwards through the courtyard of the Hartlieb oil mill, initially along the Sulmtalradweg R1 cycle path. From the Waldhütter farm, it climbs through a forest path to Schönegg and continues along municipal paths to Sauberg. You will be accompanied by magnificent views of the region throughout. From there, you descend into the Fahrenbach Valley. After the bridge, you walk along the stream for a while before turning left onto the municipal path up to the Valtlthoma Chapel. Follow the markings on the municipal path and, after crossing the main road, you will reach the Koschak inn via a scenic route over the Königsberg. From there, take the Sulmtal cycle path (R1) back to the starting point.

Coming from Graz via the A9, take the Leibnitz exit. Continue towards Kaindorf an der Sulm and follow the B74 to Heimschuh.

The Heimschuher Rundwanderweg Süd starts at the municipal office and runs through the farm of the oil mill Hartlieb eastward first along the Sulmtalradweg R1. From the farm Waldhütter it goes through a forest path up to Schönegg and further over community paths to Sauberg. From there you descend into the Fahrenbach valley. After the bridge you walk along the brook for a while before you turn left into the municipal path up to the Valtlthoma chapel. After crossing the provincial road, follow the signs on the municipal path through a scenically varied stretch over the Königsberg to the Koschak inn. From there you return to the starting point via the Sulmtalradweg (R1).

Variant 5a: The connection Heimschuh - Nestelberg leads along the municipal road without major differences in altitude and allows for shortened variants of the hike. (See tour Heimschuher Runde Süd No. 5a).

The Celtic fortified tower on Königsberg offers magnificent views and is a great place to linger. When you return to the starting point of the tour, take a look at the Hartlieb family's oil mill.

Many starting points for our hikes in southern Styria can also be reached by public transport.

For a relaxed and sustainable journey, we recommend travelling by bus and train wherever possible.

Depending on the region, additional local transport options are available.
