A delightful hike through beautiful forests, across flowering meadows, and along the Silberberg Technical College's wine trail.
The Heimschuher Rundwanderweg Nord circular hiking trail starts at the Heimschuh municipal office, first crossing the Sulm bridge, then turning left onto the municipal road along the Sulm. After crossing the federal highway, you pass through the Teichwald forest to the Wellinggraben, where the ascent to the Fastlkogel begins. Passing the Schneeberger winery, you descend via Buchkogel and Pernitschkogel into the Muggenautal valley, from where the next ascent past the Kratzer wine tavern via Kittenberg and Innerberg to the Kreuzkogelwarte begins. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy the breathtaking landscape and let your soul unwind. From the Kreuzkogel, the highest point on the route, the trail descends along the wine trail to the Silberberg technical college, where an exciting journey of discovery through fruit and wine culture awaits you. After a short stretch along the main road towards Sulmsee, the route turns left into the forest. After crossing the Sulm via the “Eiserner Steg” bridge, you return to the starting point along the R1 footpath and cycle path. A great day trip with plenty of wine, culinary delights, and South Styrian flair. Take the time to stop and enjoy the fantastic scenery.
